aus einer mit -l-Suffix gebildeten Koseform von Rufnamen, die mit dem Namenwort sigu und einem mit b- anlautenden Namenwort gebildet sind (vgl. z.B. Siebert, Siebold), hervorgegangene Familiennamen. Ein Sypel, Schöffe zu Camberg, ist a. 1368 in Limburg a. d. Lahn bezeugt.
